{"id":22089,"date":"2022-07-20T06:00:00","date_gmt":"2022-07-20T05:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/omnesmag.com\/?p=22089"},"modified":"2022-09-08T13:08:03","modified_gmt":"2022-09-08T12:08:03","slug":"decalogue-for-preparation-for-marriage","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.omnesmag.com\/en\/foco\/decalogo-para-la-preparacion-al-matrimonio\/","title":{"rendered":"Decalogue for marriage preparation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.omnesmag.com\/en\/articles\/the-ten-commandments-of-marriage-preparation\/\">Translation of the article into English<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once you have read and studied in depth the <a href=\"https:\/\/press.vatican.va\/content\/salastampa\/it\/bollettino\/pubblico\/2022\/06\/15\/0459\/00940.html\"><em>Catechumenal Itineraries for Married Life<\/em><\/a>From its reading, it is possible to extract a decalogue of key ideas from this document of which you can find an extensive summary <a href=\"https:\/\/www.omnesmag.com\/en\/resources-2\/the-appropriate-preparation-for-christian-marriage\/\">here<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1- The <strong>purpose<\/strong> of preparation for marriage in the Church is the <strong>conjugal sanctity:<\/strong> to form marriages capable of <strong>evangelize<\/strong> our society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">2- The <strong>grace<\/strong> of the sacrament leads the spouses to take the <strong>awareness of the efficacious presence of Christ<\/strong> in their communion of married life and love.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">3- The <strong>greatness of vocation<\/strong> of Christian spouses requires a serious and prolonged ecclesial work, with a formative approach <strong>attractive, all-encompassing, deep and intense.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">4- The proper way to gestate a Christian marriage is a \"...\".<strong>catechumenate\".<\/strong> <strong>or itinerary of faith,<\/strong> in which the future spouses will accept the divine gift and <strong>assume the<\/strong> <strong>protagonism<\/strong> of its preparation process, <strong>guided and accompanied<\/strong> by the pastors and by other members of the Church who have been duly prepared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">5- Training for mature spousal love presupposes a <strong>continuous training process<\/strong>, <strong>at various stages<\/strong>from the preparation <strong>remote<\/strong> in childhood and youth (in the family, parish, school, movements and ecclesial groups), up to the <strong>next and immediate<\/strong> to the celebration of the sacrament (of at least one year's duration), which will be extended after contracting the sacrament in the <strong>married life<\/strong> (especially in the early years).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">6- The Church must <strong>instruct<\/strong> <strong>and be close<\/strong> the bride and groom on their way to marriage, with a style that is <strong>positive, encouraging and testimonial<\/strong> from <strong>trust and dialogue<\/strong> sincere; it is also necessary to <strong>prayer<\/strong> and community, with the appropriate sacramental celebration of the sacrament of <strong>Eucharist<\/strong> and the <strong>Reconciliation<\/strong>. In this way, future spouses will be able to welcome the Gospel of marriage and the family with hope and live it within the ecclesial community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">7- The good news of Christian marriage is to be transmitted in a <strong>gradual process of purification and growth<\/strong>with mercy and prudence. In this way, the candidates to the married state will be able to assimilate the blessing of the sacrament, overcoming with the opportune aids the possible <strong>shortcomings and limitations<\/strong> and improving couple's communication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">8- It must be ensured that the bride and groom understand the meaning, purposes, characteristics and benefits of the <strong>marriage according to God's plan<\/strong> of creation and redemption. They will then be able to choose it in a conscious and mature manner, in an exercise of <strong>reflection and<\/strong> <strong>discernment<\/strong>avoiding the cultural confusions of some widespread erroneous ideologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">9- The affective-sexual education of the heart by means of the human and Christian virtue of the <strong>chastity, ally of love<\/strong>as well as the reasoned explanation of the doctrine of the <strong>responsible procreation,<\/strong> will allow us to understand and assume with joy the beauty of the meaning of the human body in its masculinity and femininity as a call to interpersonal communion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">10- Adequate and permanent ecclesiastical preparation and accompaniment is <strong>guarantee of the fulfillment of the divine promise<\/strong> inscribed in the conjugal vocation.
