{"id":45886,"date":"2025-03-04T16:11:49","date_gmt":"2025-03-04T14:11:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.omnesmag.com\/?p=45886"},"modified":"2025-03-05T10:04:08","modified_gmt":"2025-03-05T08:04:08","slug":"alex-jones-hallow","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.omnesmag.com\/en\/foco\/evangelizacion\/alex-jones-hallow\/","title":{"rendered":"Alex Jones: \"We are looking for new ways to help people to pray\"."},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Alex Jones is the CEO and co-founder of <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.omnesmag.com\/en\/focus\/pablo-lopez-how-to-talk-about-god-in-networks\/\">Hallow<\/a><\/em>a mobile application designed to assist in personal and mental prayer in the midst of a digitalized world. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Its initiators, Alex Jones, Alessandro DiSanto and Erich Kerekes created this app in 2018 without knowing that it would come to position itself as the first spirituality app with more than 22 million downloads on devices around the world. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><a href=\"https:\/\/try.hallow.com\/cuaresma-2025?utm_campaign=&amp;utm_source=adwords&amp;utm_term=&amp;utm_medium=ppc&amp;hsa_src=x&amp;hsa_grp=&amp;hsa_kw=&amp;hsa_net=adwords&amp;hsa_acc=1807324092&amp;hsa_ver=3&amp;hsa_ad=&amp;hsa_tgt=&amp;hsa_mt=&amp;hsa_cam=22244966544&amp;gad_source=1&amp;gclid=CjwKCAiA5pq-BhBuEiwAvkzVZZN_JVkic_1AjZDQI12Fjm5ArJo8nBCfxnCUAIVSjyBeRgwfZQjq1RoCisUQAvD_BwE\">Hallow<\/a><\/em> is born out of the need for prayer and personal encounter with God. In fact, it responds to a vital need of its creators. It allows a great personalization according to the way of being and praying of each person and has meditations, prayers and readings in the main languages. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Although not all of its users are Catholic, the application is Catholic, and priests, bishops and theologians have contributed to it to ensure that it correctly transmits the Catholic faith. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For Lent 2025, which begins on March 5, the application has chosen the book <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.omnesmag.com\/en\/news\/san-josemaria-lenten-hallow-way\/\">The Way<\/a><\/em>of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.omnesmag.com\/en\/news\/san-josemaria-escriva-legado-new-york\/\">St. Josemar\u00eda Escriv\u00e1<\/a>as a guide in these 40 days of prayer, fasting and almsgiving. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On this occasion, Alex Jones has given an interview to Omnes in which he highlights how the best-known work of the founder of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.omnesmag.com\/en\/news\/youth-opus-dei-website\/\">Opus Dei <\/a>\"changed my life.\" <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What led them to choose <em>The Way<\/em> as an accompanying work for this Lent?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">-We chose <em>The Way<\/em> first because it changed my life and many others, but also because of its powerful and direct spiritual advice. St. Josemar\u00eda teaches us to love the world deeply through prayer and by making sacrifices. And ultimately, he helps us see that holiness can be found in our ordinary, daily lives. It\u2019s a book that really just gets at the core of Hallow\u2019s mission, which is to help people pray every single day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What are the points of this <em>The Way<\/em> of St. Josemar\u00eda are the ones marking this Lent with Hallow?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2013The Lent challenge touches on several themes of The Way that are essential to living a Christian life and trying to be a saint: prayer, sacrifice, love, and trust in God. Here\u2019s one of my favorites, from the very beginning of the challenge: <em>The Way<\/em> that are essential to living the Christian life and aspiring to holiness: prayer, sacrifice, love and trust in God. One of my favorites is right at the beginning of the challenge: \"<em>\u201cDon't let your life be a sterile life . . . And light up all the roads of the earth with the fire of Christ that you carry in your heart.<\/em> (<em>The Way<\/em>1)  What a powerful reminder of how we are supposed to live!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What role do voices like Tamara Falc\u00f3 or Jos\u00e9 Pedro Manglano play in this accompaniment, why them?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I won\u2019t give away too many details of the challenge quite yet, but we have some really exciting surprises in store for you this <em>Lent2025<\/em>will say that we\u2019ve asked all of our partners to join Lent Pray40 because we find the way they live out their faith to be pretty inspiring. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It takes a lot of courage to share the faith, and for that, we are deeply grateful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Lent is, for the entire Church, a true journey of conversion. <em>Hallow<\/em> What is most helpful to users during this liturgical season?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This Lent we hope to help folks root out what\u2019s stopping them and start fully following Christ who is <em>\"the way, the truth and the life.\"<\/em> (John 14:6). It is about conquering each morning and giving it to God. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There\u2019s this quote from St. Josemar\u00eda Escriv\u00e1 that I\u2019ve found powerful and think encompasses what our goal this Lent is: <em>\u201cLent is a time of penance, purification, and conversion. It is not an easy program, but then Christianity is not an easy way of life. It is not enough just to be in the Church, letting the years roll by. In our life, in the life of Christians, our first conversion\u2026 is certainly very significant. But the later conversions are even more important, and they are increasingly demanding.\u201d<\/em> (<em>Christ passing by<\/em>, 57) <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Lent2025<\/em> truly is for everyone, whether you\u2019re a daily mass-goer, you\u2019re just coming back to the faith after years away, or you\u2019re just giving this a try. We\u2019re excited to pray with you whenever you are on your faith journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How do users use <em>Hallow<\/em>What distinguishes it from other similar applications?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">-People use Hallow in all kinds of ways. Some folks like to start their mornings with the Daily Gospel reflection on the app. Others find rest before bed with a Sleep Bible Story or praying the Rosary. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Prayer really can look different for everyone, but that\u2019s what makes getting to work on the app really powerful for us. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We are always looking for new ways to help people pray, especially those who are returning to the faith or discovering it for the first time. While many apps focus on looking inward and focusing on oneself, at <em>Hallow<\/em> we try to help focus on God and how He acts in our lives and those around us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It\u2019s all about building a friendship with God and really just getting to know Him.
