{"id":49488,"date":"2025-06-07T07:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-06-07T05:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.omnesmag.com\/?p=49488"},"modified":"2025-06-06T18:58:04","modified_gmt":"2025-06-06T16:58:04","slug":"philosophical-dialogue-and-upsa-to-study-human-yearnings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.omnesmag.com\/en\/foco\/dialogo-filosofico-y-upsa-estudiaran-anhelos-del-ser-humano\/","title":{"rendered":"Philosophical Dialogue' and UPSA to study human longings and challenges"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the 40th anniversary of '<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dialogofilosofico.com\/index.php\/dialogo\/\">Philosophical dialogue<\/a>a journal directed by Professor Antonio S\u00e1nchez Orantos, CMF, a large group of speakers will study important challenges for the human being at the Pontifical University of Salamanca (UPSA). The philosophers and academics come from universities in Latin America and Spain from June 19-21.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the words of Prof. Sanchez Orantos, director of the conference, the congress will try to respond to \"three strong cultural and ecclesial interests\". These are \"hope and the meaning of human life in the context of this Jubilee year\". Secondly, \"the challenge of Artificial Intelligence (AI), taking into account the social revolution that it represents and that must be faced under the leadership of Pope Leo XIV\".<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And finally, \"the urgency of peace and reconciliation in the context of political polarization and tense social dialogue\".<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Keynote speakers<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This XII Congress will be inaugurated by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.omnesmag.com\/en\/news\/mons-arguello-opening-eec-plenary-session\/\">Msgr. Luis Arg\u00fcello<\/a>President of the Spanish Bishops' Conference, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.omnesmag.com\/en\/focus\/card-aquilino-bocos-casi-all-crises-are-relationship-crisis\/\">Claretian Cardinal Aquilino Bocos Merino<\/a> (CMF), the Bishop of Salamanca and Grand Chancellor of the UPSA, Jos\u00e9 Luis Retana, and the Rector of the Pontifical University, Santiago Garc\u00eda-Jal\u00f3n.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On behalf of 'Di\u00e1logo filos\u00f3fico', Ildefonso Murillo, CMF, founder of the magazine, and the director himself, Antonio S\u00e1nchez Orantos, will take part in the opening ceremony. This will be followed by the first lecture of the program, which can be consulted here. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dialogofilosofico.com\/index.php\/dialogo\/jornada-xii\">here<\/a>Luis Arg\u00fcello.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some of the speakers at the Congress, which is also organized by the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences of the UPSA, will be Josep Mar\u00eda Esquirol, Mariano Asla, Alicia Villar, Adela Cortina, H\u00e9ctor Vel\u00e1zquez Fern\u00e1ndez, Pilar Dom\u00ednguez Lozano and Mario Torres, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The dialogues will be chaired by Camino Ca\u00f1\u00f3n Loyes (Comillas Pontifical University), Agust\u00edn Domingo Moratalla (University of Valencia), F\u00e9lix Gonz\u00e1lez Romero (IES Nicol\u00e1s Cop\u00e9rnico Madrid) and Carlos Blanco P\u00e9rez (Comillas Pontifical University). Also, Juan Antonio Nicol\u00e1s Mar\u00edn (University of Granada) and Juan Jes\u00fas Gutierro (Comillas Pontifical University).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Times of crisis<\/strong> and hopes <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"We live in a time of crisis and, therefore, a time of new possibilities, of new hopes if, from the light generated by interdisciplinary dialogue, new paths of human excellence are made possible,\" the organizers point out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They also add that \"within this cultural crisis, the disruptive emergence of AI forces us to (re)think several things. The human-machine relationship, the algorithm and freedom, privacy and social communication, and the emergence of new forms of political and economic organization.\"\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition, a third thematic block will address \"public conversation as a possibility for human life\".&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>On-site and online modality<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For more information and to formalize registration, the organizers offer both on-site and online registration. Also, undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students, and anyone interested in thinking and discussing the proposed topic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Communications<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Those registered for the XII Congress who wish to present a paper should send, before the deadline, the following information <strong>June 10 <\/strong>2025, an abstract with a maximum length of 300 words.
