The Holy See is becoming aware that transparency forms the basis of a good and solid reputation.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Fairness and transparency<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Fairness and transparency<\/strong>. This is the request made by the <strong>Pope Francis\u2019<\/strong> to those in charge of the Holy See in economic matters. To achieve this goal, among other recent measures, it has taken the decision to <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.omnesmag.com\/en\/secretaria-estado-no-gestionara-los-activos-financieros\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">transferring the management of the State Secretariat's financial and real estate assets to APSA<\/a><\/strong> (Administration of the Patrimony of the Apostolic See).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The news, which was made public last November 4, came after a wave of scandals splashed the Secretary of State's Office, such as the <strong>real estate investment in London<\/strong> (Sloan Avenue) and the uses of <strong>Maltese Centurion<\/strong>which resulted in the<strong> Cardinal Becciu's resignation<\/strong>. In a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.corriere.it\/cronache\/20_settembre_28\/solo-centro-spesa-cosi-papa-chi-ha-chiesto-linearita-trasparenza-4717ee98-01c2-11eb-af0b-6e1669518b1a.shtml\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">interview recently granted to <em>Il Corriere della Sera<\/em><\/a>, <strong>Monsignor Nunzio Galantino<\/strong>explained that \"<em>the Pope has been thinking about this reform for some time: if there are errors in administration, he wants to know who is responsible for them<\/em>.\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.omnesmag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/nunzio-galantino-y-papa-francisco-1024x688.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5601\"\/><figcaption>Msgr. Nunzio Galantino with Pope Francis<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In November 2018, in a <strong>letter addressed to the coordinator of the Council of Economy of the Holy See<\/strong>Pope Francis has set up a wide-ranging project of rationalization of the administration and of vigilance and transparency. Among other measures, <strong>requested that as soon as possible there should be a single center where the money would be deposited.<\/strong>and from which both expenditures and investments will be made. <strong>All in order to keep under control the actual flow of liquidity belonging to the Holy See,<\/strong> necessary for the life of the Roman Curia and the mission of the Church.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Towards full transparency<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"<em><strong>A change of mentality is at stake<\/strong> <\/em>-always difficult to obtain easily and quickly-, <em>to which we address ourselves under the guidance of Pope Francis<\/em>\", <a href=\"https:\/\/www.avvenire.it\/chiesa\/pagine\/intervista-galantino-finanze-vaticane-e-obolo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Galantino explained to the Catholic newspaper <em>Il Avvenire<\/em><\/a>. \"<em>What is being done <strong>is now moving in the right direction<\/strong> and is demonstrating that the procedures we are implementing to improve the system are working.<\/em>\".<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This series of measures is aimed at streamlining administration and making operations more traceable, <strong>in view of full economic transparency<\/strong>.
