The Pope resumed his reflection on the conciliar constitution on the liturgy. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vatican.va\/archive\/hist_councils\/ii_vatican_council\/documents\/vat-ii_const_19631204_sacrosanctum-concilium_sp.html\">Sacrosanctum Concilium <\/a>(SC) focusing, on this day, on the \u201cecclesial dimension of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.omnesmag.com\/en\/resources-2\/sunday-readings-2\/readings-for-sunday-the-xxixth-sunday-in-ordinary-time-c\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"51950\">prayer<\/a> \u00bbliturgical.\". <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00a0First, the pontiff recalled that \u201cit is the Holy Spirit who teaches us to pray\u201d and stated that\u00a0<br>\u201cIn our time, in contexts dominated by a mindset focused on efficiency and consumerism, prayer may seem pointless and ridiculous,\u201d or even \u201ca form of escapism.\u201d.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The pontiff also pointed out that \u201cin many Christian families, prayer is no longer passed down, while many people run the risk of confusing it with just another technique\u2014one that is psychological in nature and geared toward personal well-being.\u201d These realities further highlight the need to discover the truth of Christian prayer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On this point, the Pope sought to bring the content of *Sacrosanctum Concilium* up to date, noting how this Apostolic Constitution recognized this need for prayer. Liturgical prayer is the place where God and each one of us meet, the Pope explained. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00abIn the Constitution, in fact, the term \u201cprayer\u201d refers to the entire liturgy. This perspective is decisive, because it guided the liturgical reform, making it the cornerstone of the faithful\u2019s active participation. \u00bbThe liturgy is, above all, a place of encounter\u2014the initiative of God who draws near to humanity in his Son,\u201d he affirmed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At this point, the Pope highlighted the Liturgy of the Hours as the backbone of the Church\u2019s liturgical prayer, which \u00abmust be embraced and lived out more and more in the daily lives of the baptized and of communities. \u00bbFor so many people who want to learn to pray\u2014especially catechumens\u2014it can offer the path and the school of Christian prayer.\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Liturgy of the Hours, which, as the Pope has emphasized, is linked to the Eucharist and in which \u00abevery hour is an act of hope: during our earthly pilgrimage, we keep vigil with the whole Church, awaiting the Lord\u2019s glorious return.\u00bb. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>La bas\u00edlica de San Pedro ha acogido la catequesis del Papa Le\u00f3n XIV en este primer mi\u00e9rcoles de agosto, debido a las altas temperaturas de la Ciudad Eterna hoy.
