Of those who had been considering an abortion, 85,40% continued with their pregnancies after finding the support they needed to cope with the difficulties arising from their pregnancies. 69,98% were unemployed, nearly 80% were foreign nationals, and most were between the ages of 30 and 39.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These figures were just released by this solidarity network supporting women, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.redmadre.es\/\">RedMadre<\/a>, which last year marked its 18th year of supporting pregnant women in vulnerable situations due to their pregnancies\u2014more than half a million so far\u2014 and which, since 2007, has built a support network that currently includes 37 REDMADRE associations and more than 50 locations throughout Spain.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The main needs of the women who sought support from this network in 2025 were: guidance and information (1,00%), emotional support (56,19%), support for post-abortion trauma (37,60%) and support in finding employment (24,19%). In terms of material needs, 51,83% required diapers and 28,33% needed food.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition, 437 women reported experiencing abuse, 63% of whom reported psychological abuse and 20,82% physical abuse. 16,02% were referred to specialized services for gender-based violence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Amaya Azcona: \u201cPublic support for pregnant women is insufficient\u201d<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cRedMadre\u2019s evolution over these 18 years, during which we have supported 502,889 mothers,\u201d says Amaya Azcona, executive director of the REDMADRE Foundation, \u201cshows that public support for pregnant women, and especially those in vulnerable situations, is insufficient. Once again, we call on public authorities to conduct an in-depth analysis of motherhood and develop realistic, concrete, and effective support measures.\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The profile of the women who sought assistance from the RedMadre Foundation in 2025 was as follows: foreign nationals (79,52%), aged 30 to 39 (47%) and between the ages of 18 and 29 (44.22%), unemployed (69.98%), with family support (62.30%), and with support from her partner (59.12%).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The evolution of this network shows that fewer and fewer Spanish women are seeking support when faced with an unplanned pregnancy, and that 40.88% of women facing an unplanned pregnancy still do not have the support of the father of the child they are expecting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"880\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/www.omnesmag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/RedMadreMujeresLasRozas-2-880x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-64581\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.omnesmag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/RedMadreMujeresLasRozas-2-880x1024.jpg 880w, https:\/\/www.omnesmag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/RedMadreMujeresLasRozas-2-258x300.jpg 258w, https:\/\/www.omnesmag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/RedMadreMujeresLasRozas-2-601x700.jpg 601w, https:\/\/www.omnesmag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/RedMadreMujeresLasRozas-2-767x893.jpg 767w, https:\/\/www.omnesmag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/RedMadreMujeresLasRozas-2-1320x1536.jpg 1320w, https:\/\/www.omnesmag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/RedMadreMujeresLasRozas-2-1760x2048.jpg 1760w, https:\/\/www.omnesmag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/RedMadreMujeresLasRozas-2-10x12.jpg 10w, https:\/\/www.omnesmag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/RedMadreMujeresLasRozas-2-600x698.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.omnesmag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/RedMadreMujeresLasRozas-2.jpg 1897w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 880px) 100vw, 880px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Workshop at the Las Rozas branch of REDMADRE Madrid (@RedMadre).<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How They Got in Touch<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 2025 Annual Report highlights the consolidation of the presence of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.omnesmag.com\/en\/news\/redmadre-search-engine-mothers-training\/\">REDMADRE<\/a> In each province: 44,507 women contacted the RedMadre Association in their city directly, and 15,604 contacted the Foundation via email (2,000 emails received) or phone call (6,859) and WhatsApp (6,745), from which they were referred to the RedMadre Association in their city.<br><br>RedMadre\u2019s work has been carried out by 1,093 volunteers throughout Spain, thanks to private donations from individuals and companies, as well as the growing number of partnership agreements signed with various institutions to consolidate existing initiatives and create new ones. \u201cThe goal is to provide better support for pregnant women and to continue building a society that protects and values motherhood,\u201d they say.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Abortion in Spain<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to data from the Ministry of Health, in 2024\u2014the most recent year for which data is available\u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sanidad.gob.es\/areas\/promocionPrevencion\/embarazo\/datosEstadisticos.htm\">official data<\/a>, the number of IVEs (voluntary terminations of pregnancy, according to official terminology\u2014that is, abortions) continues to rise in Spain, reaching 106,172\u20143,075 more than the 103,097 recorded in 2024. In 2015, the official figure was 94,188.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>En 2025 solicitaron apoyo a RedMadre 60.111 mujeres.
