{"id":64842,"date":"2026-09-29T06:20:24","date_gmt":"2026-09-29T04:20:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.omnesmag.com\/?p=64842"},"modified":"2026-09-29T11:33:06","modified_gmt":"2026-09-29T09:33:06","slug":"bryce-crawford-the-young-evangelist","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.omnesmag.com\/en\/actualidad\/bryce-crawford-el-joven-evangelista\/","title":{"rendered":"Bryce Crawford, the young evangelist who brings Jesus to social media"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The unique aspect of Bryce Crawford, the evangelist of Generation Z, as he is being called, lies not in music or entertainment, but in something older: talking about Jesus, reading the Bible, answering questions about faith, and going out to find people who, according to him, need to hear the Gospel again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now based in Los Angeles, this young American evangelist and missionary has converted the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.interfaithamerica.org\/article\/can-virality-create-revival-gen-z-evangelist-bryce-crawford-has-faith\/?utm_source=chatgpt.com\">evangelization<\/a> Street activism and social media\u2014especially TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube\u2014are the main vehicles for his proclamation of Jesus Christ to new generations, with a total of more than 7 million followers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Crawford defines himself on his own website as an \u201cevangelist &amp; founder\u201d of <a href=\"https:\/\/brycecrawford.org\/\">Bryce Crawford Ministries<\/a>. The organization presents him as an \u201cevangelist and missionary based in Los Angeles\u201d, dedicated to sharing the Gospel \u201conline and in person\u201d with anyone who will listen.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Their motto is equally explicit: \u201cDoing whatever it takes to reach the lost and training Christians to do the same\u201d: to do whatever it takes to reach those who are far away and to train Christians to do the same.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>This year&#039;s &#039;I love Jesus US Tour&#039;<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The first national I Love Jesus US Tour began on February 24, 2026, and ended on March 29, 2026, with the final show in Los Angeles, California. This was confirmed by Liberty University, whose Liberty Worship Collective accompanied Crawford on tour.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During that time, the young Crawford toured the United States with his I Love Jesus US Tour, which visited 22 cities in 18 states and concluded in Los Angeles. The tour combined preaching, prayer, worship music, and conversations about faith, and he was accompanied for much of the journey by students from the Liberty Worship Collective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And a fact that gives an idea of the phenomenon: more than 35 Liberty University students participated at different times during the tour, forming six teams that took turns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Conversion into a Waffle House<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">His personal story is an essential part of his preaching. Crawford grew up in Cartersville, Georgia, in an evangelical environment, attending a Christian academy and a Southern Baptist church. However, during his adolescence, he suffered, according to his own testimony, from severe anxiety, depression, and very negative, even suicidal, thoughts. But his family history later underwent a transformation that he attributes directly to God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The story he tells places a decisive moment during Christmas 2020, when he entered a Waffle House restaurant intending that to be his last meal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There he began talking to a man going through a divorce. (@Bryce Crawford Ministries).<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>God was calling him full-time<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After graduating from high school in 2022, he moved to Los Angeles convinced that God was calling him to be a full-time missionary. There, he began preaching on the streets. In May 2023, as he told CBN News, he also had a dream in which Loren Cunningham, founder of Youth With A Mission, appeared. Crawford interpreted that experience as a call to record the evangelistic conversations he was already having with people on the street, to encourage other Christians to be more courageous in their faith. \u201cIt\u2019s been nothing short of a miracle,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In an interview with Rick Rubin, he recounted that for Christmas 2023 he gave his mother her first personal Bible, along with a plan to read it over the course of a year. She read it throughout 2024. Crawford says that his mother became a woman of great faith during those years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What is Bryce talking about?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It could be said that Bryce Crawford talks primarily about Jesus and how to live as a Christian in the contemporary world. His podcast is presented as an exploration of how to follow Jesus courageously in the modern world. Topics covered in his episodes include salvation, faith, doubt, calling, anxiety, purity, marriage, sin, repentance, holiness, prayer, identity, suffering, forgiveness, grace, culture, social media, and truth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Conversations also with strangers, with kindness<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There seems to be a two-pronged approach, therefore: explaining Christianity and teaching other Christians how to evangelize. He doesn&#039;t limit himself to speaking to those who already believe. One of the characteristics of his videos is his conversations with strangers in public spaces. He has gone to places far removed from the typical church setting\u2014including Venice Beach, countercultural festivals, and Pride celebrations\u2014to talk about Jesus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">His method also explains some of his popularity. Instead of simply preaching directly, he tries to converse, listen, and ask questions. The Associated Press noted that his street evangelism seeks to change mindsets through kindness.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Crawford himself explained: \u201cOur tactics have been one-on-one conversations, calmly listening, asking questions because we care about them.\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Why so many followers?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As mentioned at the beginning, Crawford doesn&#039;t need to be a singer or produce music: the raw material is conversations, testimonies, the Bible, and the questions he poses to people who don&#039;t necessarily share his faith. And this attracts millions of followers on the aforementioned social media platforms.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The figures provided by their own organization are even higher in terms of views: between January and September 2025, they recorded 63 million views on YouTube, 406 million on Instagram, 647 million on TikTok, and eight million podcast listens.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The context: Evangelicals, the 23% of American adults<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Crawford grew up in Georgia, in a family connected to a Southern Baptist church and Christian upbringing. According to the Pew Research Center&#039;s latest Religious Landscape Study, conducted in 2023-24, 231% of American adults identify as evangelical Protestant, up from 261% in 2007. Protestants as a whole represent 40% and Catholics 19%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Evangelical dynamism is not exclusively American. In other countries, such as Brazil, the 2022 census placed them at 26.91% of the population aged ten and over, compared to 21.61% in 2010. In a recent survey, 29% of Brazilian adults identified as Protestant, compared to 46% who identified as Catholic.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Transformation in the way the message is presented<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Crawford&#039;s case fits into a broader transformation, analysts say.
