20,000 free tickets to visit the Sagrada Familia through September 20

Coinciding with the La Mercè festivities, the Basilica of the Sagrada Familia will once again hold its Open House Days. This year, 20,000 free tickets are available to visit the basilica and see the current status of the construction work.

The tours will take place on September 24, 25, 26, and 27, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., except on Saturday, September 26, when the hours will be from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Tickets will be awarded through an open lottery. Those interested can register from September 14 through Sunday, September 20, at 9:00 p.m. via the form organized by the Sagrada Familia. The results of the drawing will be announced starting September 20.

The tour will include a visit to the Nativity Facade, the interior of the Basilica, the Liturgical Route, the museum, and the Passion Facade. In addition, visitors will be able to see the exhibition «The Power of a Shared Dream,» which is part of the Gaudí Year commemorative program. Through photographs, the exhibition traces some key moments in the history of the Sagrada Família and highlights the people who have helped keep the project alive.

This year’s main attraction will be in the materials courtyard, where three sculptures intended for the exterior of the future Chapel of the Assumption will be on display: the figures of Saint Joseph Oriol and Saint Roch, along with one of the four angels that will crown the dome and hold up the Virgin Mary’s blue mantle.

The Open House events will thus allow the public to learn more about both the Basilica's heritage and the progress of the construction work, which continues to move toward the completion of Gaudí's project.
