A theologian and professor at the University of Navarra, he founded Word in 1965 and pursued an extensive academic and research career linked to the Church and the Second Vatican Council. He produced the critical-historical editions of The Way y Holy Rosary, by St. Josemaría Escrivá, whom he interviewed in a historic interview in 1967.
